Kirtan Rabbi's second album offers something completely different from the much-heralded Kirtan Rabbi: Live! Produced in an intimate Greenwich Village setting, the Hebrew chants in Achat Sha'alti are characterized by soothing vocals, dreamy loops, and hypnotic world rhythms. They are composed to be used for meditation and prayer. The CD resulted from the collaboration between Grammy award winner Frank Wolf and Rabbi Andrew Hahn. Friends who sang in the Kirtan Rabbi Posse include: Aliza Hava, Avi Fox-Rosen, Bekah Starr, Benjy Fox-Rosen, Doron Avizov, Emily Stern, Josie Lehrer, Lee Moore, Michelle Miller, Miriam Rubin, Miriam Raziel Schwartz, Noah Baumwoll, Sadie Rosenthal, Shir Yaakov Feinstein-Feit, Shoshana Jedwab.
The album cover, designed by Shir Yaakov, features a photo by Chris Taylor of the threatened Haskel-Baker Wetlands in Eastern Kansas.
This album is also available for digital download from iTunes.
